Livespore uses a multi-stage extraction process designed to capture cold-water, alcohol-soluble, and hot-water soluble mushroom compounds — then finish as an alcohol-free extract.
Dual Extraction, Without Alcohol in the Final Bottle
We use alcohol as an extraction tool, not as the final base. After alcohol-soluble compounds are extracted, the alcohol is removed and the concentrated fraction is recombined with the hot-water extract.

The Livespore Extraction Method
Mushrooms contain different compound groups. Our process uses multiple extraction stages because no single method captures everything equally well.
Cold Water Extraction
We begin with cold water to capture delicate, heat-sensitive compounds before any heat-based extraction begins.
Organic Grape Alcohol
Organic grape alcohol is used to dissolve alcohol-soluble compounds such as triterpenes, sterols, and related constituents.
Ultrasonic Assistance
Ultrasonic sound waves help disrupt mushroom cell structures and improve the release of compounds into solution.
Filtration
After alcohol extraction, the mushroom material is filtered out and saved for the hot-water extraction stage.
Hot Water Extraction
The filtered mushroom material is extracted with hot water to pull out beta-glucans and other polysaccharides.
Alcohol Removal
The alcohol extract is reduced with a rotary evaporator so the alcohol can be removed from the final formula.
Recombination
The reduced alcohol-soluble fraction is recombined with the polysaccharide-rich hot-water extract.
Final Alcohol-Free Extract
The final extract brings together multiple compound groups in an alcohol-free finished product.
A Broader, More Thoughtful Extract
This process is more involved than a basic tincture. It allows us to work with cold-sensitive compounds, alcohol-soluble compounds, and polysaccharide-rich hot-water fractions separately before bringing them together.
